LAKE TYRES
Lake Tyers is Victoria's go-to destination for trophy dusky flathead — fish over a metre long are a genuine possibility here, not a marketing claim. The lake's shallow sand flats, weed beds and timber-lined arms create ideal ambush habitat, and when conditions align, the sight fishing is world-class. The main lake is fed by three extensive arms — Nowa Nowa Arm, Toorloo Arm and Black Fellows Arm — each offering their own distinct fishing opportunities and character.
WHY FISH WITH A PROFESSIONAL GUIDE
Lake Tyers rewards anglers who can read the flats — understanding where fish hold across different seasons and wind directions takes time most visitors don't have. A guided session gets you to the right water at the right time. The lake's size and variety of structure means there's always a productive option — a guide removes the guesswork entirely

THE CHARTER EXPERIENCE
Lake Tyers suits anglers of all experience levels. First-timers learn to work lures across the flats; experienced anglers chase personal-best flathead. Both happen regularly on the same charter. Sight fishing for flathead on the shallow sand flats is a highlight — there are few things in freshwater or estuary fishing more satisfying than watching a large fish commit to a lure in clear water.
